Chong-Ren Chien, MS

Chief Mechanical Engineer

Chong-Ren Chien was awarded his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.  He has 20 years of experience working as a mechanical engineer for Pratt & Whitney, Hamilton Sundstrand and General Atomics.

Mr. Chien began his career as a thermal engineer specializing in computer tools customization with ANSYS while working for Pratt & Whitney’s Secondary Air & Heat Transfer group.  From there he transferred to Pratt & Whitney Aero Power (formerly Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems) as a structural engineer performing vibration, stress, and rotordynamic analyses for rotating and static components on the APS5000 and APS3240 auxiliary power units (APUs).

He later moved to General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (EMS) Division to work on various aircraft launch and recovery systems on the new Ford class aircraft carrier (CVN-78).  In 2017, Mr. Chien was awarded the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Commander’s Team Award for his contributions to the Water Twister’s Integrated Product Team (IPT) rotor redesign.
